Costs posted at registration include a one-day membership. A discount will be applied if you are already a member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Participant Cap<\/strong>: 240 swimmers. The swim typically sells out, so sign up early!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Important Details<\/strong>:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>This swim is not for novices<\/strong>; it is for experienced open-water swimmers only. <strong>At a minimum you should be able to swim one mile comfortably in under 40 minutes.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only pre-registered swimmers are allowed to compete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water temperature: Has historically been 70 degrees or above but can vary based on spring weather patterns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wetsuits are allowed, unless the water temperature exceeds 78 degrees (per USMS rule).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other assistive devices, including masks, fins, snorkels, and paddles are not allowed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Swimmers are not permitted to wear headphones during the race.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>USMS membership is required. Day-long membership is $15 and can be purchased as part of the online registration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Age requirement: 18 years minimum<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kayakers will provide support during the race<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fluorescent swim caps will be provided and must be worn for safety reasons<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mandatory Athlete check-in from 6:45am to 7:20am, <strong>please bring a photo ID.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pre-race announcement at 7:40am<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Start 8am<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bag-check available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>CAUTION<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This swim is not for novices; this event is for experienced open-water swimmers only. <strong>To participate, you should be able to swim one mile comfortably in 40 minutes or less.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The race director reserves the right to pull swimmers from the water who cannot complete the course in the allowed time.<\/strong> &nbsp;This is for safety reasons, as boat traffic must resume along the river immediately following our event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The race is dependent on weather conditions and may be canceled under adverse conditions.
